BOARDEE’s Two Premium Line Sets
BOARDEEÂ offers two distinct line sets designed to meet various needs:
1. BOARDEE Professional Court Lines
Material:Â Nylon
Adjustability:Â This set is highly flexible, adjustable from a regular court size of 8 x 16 meters to a larger 9 x 18 meters court. It can also be resized to 6.5 x 16 meters for beach tennis singles, offering unparalleled adjustability compared to other lines on the market.
Colors:Â Available in Dark Blue, Red, and Light Blue.
Keep this Nylon set dry. If it is wet it loosens a bit. In that case, make necessary adjustment and re-adjust length when it gets dry again. Nylon is the top longevity material. That is why, this material is used.
2. BOARDEE Standard Court Lines
Material:Â Polypropylene (PP)
Adjustability:Â While less flexible than the nylon version, the PP lines are durable and reliable for standard court sizes.
Colors:Â Available in Red, Dark Blue, and Purple.
No need to worry if it gets wet but longevity is less than Nylon material.
Why Adjustable Hook and Loop Court Lines Matter
Accurate court setup is crucial for fair play. The BOARDEE Beach Volleyball Court Lines offer several benefits:
1. Flexibility in Court Size
The adjustable design allows customization for different game formats. Whether you're setting up a standard 8x8 meter court or adjusting for other sizes, this flexibility ensures accurate dimensions and consistent playability. The Nylon Professional Court Lines can be adjusted from 8 x 16 meters to 9 x 18 meters and even resized to 6.5 x 16 meters for beach tennis singles—an unmatched level of adjustability.
2. Enhanced Stability and Durability
Crafted from rip-resistant polypropylene (PP) or nylon with UV protection and anti-aging properties, our lines are designed for long-term durability. They withstand the elements, ensuring consistent performance and appearance over time.
3. User-Friendly Installation
Our hook-and-loop system simplifies setup and maintenance. The design allows for easy adjustments and ensures a secure fit, preventing movement and slippage during play. This is a significant advantage over non-adjustable lines, which may require frequent readjustment.
4. Secure Fastening
Even without metal hooks, our fastening system provides stability and prevents unwanted movement during play. The 10 cm x 10 cm plastic plates for sand surfaces ensure secure installation and clear boundary definition, suitable for both beach volleyball and tennis. (new version PP lines has 15 x 15 cm plastic plates)
Why Non-Adjustable Hook-and-Loop Lines Fall Short
Non-adjustable lines have limitations that can affect your setup:
1. Lack of Flexibility
Fixed-size lines cannot adapt to variations in court dimensions or uneven surfaces, leading to inaccuracies and affecting gameplay.
2. Potential for Misalignment
Without adjustment options, lines may become misaligned, compromising the court's accuracy and fairness.
3. Difficulty in Maintaining Tension
Non-adjustable lines may not provide optimal tension control, leading to sagging or loose lines that require constant adjustment.
Step-by-Step Setup for BOARDEE Beach Volleyball Court Lines
This part has been taken the latest Beach Volleyball book: "All Aspects of Beach Volleyball". The book is a complete hand book for Beach Volleyball lovers.
According to All Aspects of Beach Volleyball book follow these steps to set up your BOARDEE Beach Volleyball Court Lines accurately:
1. Unpack and Prepare
Unpack the Kit:Â Remove all components from the box. Roll out the lines with a team of 2-6 people to streamline the setup process.
Boardee Line Box comprises:
- 2 Lengthy Nylon Boundary Lines: 16.5 m or 18.5 m each (depending on the set)
- 2 Short Nylon Boundary Lines: 8.5 or 9.5 m each (depending on the set)
- 8 Plastic Squared Plates: 10 x 10 cm or 15 x 15 cm - (depending on the set) - designed for sand/snow courts
- 8 Elastic Ropes or 8 webbing tapes with plastic buckler (depending on the set) for use with plastic squared plates or metal stakes
- 8 Metal Stakes (20 cm x 5 mm) - suitable for grass courts
- 1 Tape Measure (20 m)
2. Attach the Webbing Tape
Secure the Corners: Use the provided webbing tape to attach plastic plates (for sand) or metal stakes (for grass) to the lines. Thread the elastic rope through the plate’s hole, tie a knot, and use the buckles for secure attachment. The updated version features narrower tape with buckles for quicker connections.
3. Connect the Lines
Hook and Loop Connection:Â Interconnect the lines with the hook-and-loop side facing the floor. Fold and secure the lines under the plates or stakes to maintain stability and a neat appearance.
4. Position the Lines
Lay Out and Prepare:Â Place the lines randomly on the ground. Prepare your stakes and tape measure. Align the lines with the poles for accurate positioning.
5. Find the Middle of the Court and Place the First Two Metal Stakes
Ensure the field lines are centered between the two poles. Place the first two metal stakes at an equal distance from the posts, with additional personnel for support.
Step 1:Â To position the metal stakes accurately, measure the distance between the poles. Typically, this distance is 10 meters, but deviations may occur. Center the court lines based on the net measure between the poles. For instance, if the pole distance is 10 meters, place the small metal stakes 1 meter away from each pole towards the inside of the field (refer to Figure 1). Subtract the court width (8 meters for doubles) from the pole distance, then divide the result by two to determine the correct distance of metal stakes from the poles (e.g., 10 m - 8 m = 2 m / 2 = 1 m). Adjustments should be made for variations in pole distance; for example, if the distance is 9.90 meters, place each metal stake 95 cm away from each pole (9.90 m - 8 m = 1.90 / 2 = 95 cm).
Step 2:Â Identify the corners of the court and place the metal stakes accordingly. Follow these steps: a. Person 1 places the "0 cm" point of the tape measure on top of the small metal stake 1 (rod 1). b. Person 2, using the same tape measure, identifies 19.31 meters and positions that point on metal stake 2 (rod 2). c. Person 3, finding 8 meters on the tape measure, marks the corner and secures metal stake 3 (rod 3) into the sand where the tape measure is most tense (refer to Figure 2), forming a triangular shape. d. After placing the third metal stake (Stick 3), Person 3 uses the tape measure to locate 11.31 meters and goes to the opposite corner (Figure 3). e. When both sides of the tape measure are taut, Person 3 finds the other corner and fixes metal stake 4 (Stick 4) at that point (Figure 4). f. Person 3 moves to the other half of the court, maintaining 11.31 meters on the tape measure, and places metal stake 5 (Stick 5) at the point where the tape measure is most tense (Figure 5). g. The same person then locates and holds 8 meters on the tape measure and proceeds to the last empty corner, placing the sixth metal stake (Stick 6) at the point where the tape measure is most tense (Figure 6).
6. Secure the Lines
Adjust and Bury:Â Secure the lines by adjusting their length at each corner using the hook-and-loop system. Maintain tautness by folding the lines under themselves at the corners. Bury the plastic plates (for sand) or metal stakes (for grass) to prevent movement and ensure stability. Make sure to pick up the metal stakes from the sand it may cause danger.
7. Final Checks
Verify Dimensions:Â Ensure all lines are taut and corners are stable. Check that each half of the court measures 8x8 meters and that diagonal measurements are accurate (17.89 meters for a full court and 11.31 meters for a half-court).
Note:Â The length of the lines may change due to weather conditions such as rain, heat, and cold. Regular checks are recommended, especially during tournaments or in varying weather conditions, to ensure continued accuracy.
